Like Ike?

Hi everyone.

So this is my blog. As you can tell from my title, yep, you guessed it--I am a 40-year-old Buddhist. For those of you sitting there, puzzled, I am a 13 year old Jew. Before I start my blogging, let me tell you about myself. I live in New Jersey in a nice town, in a nice neighborhood with nice people. I have a twin sister named Ella, a mom , a dad, a dog named Brownie, and a hamster named Ace. I go to school like any other normal child and I can't stand it like any other normal child. I go to a tiny little Jewish day school with a measly 130 kids, with an average of 10 per grade. Pathetic, isn't it? Before you guys think this blog is all about making fun of my school, it happens to have its good qualities, too. The classes are small, for more personal help if needed. Fewer kids means, instead of meeting new people everyday, you get to become better friends with the people you already know. The teachers are great. (Most of them, anyway.) We learn more subjects for a wider range of knowledge. For example, we learn Jewish history, Hebrew language, Rabbinics, and Tefilah (Jewish prayer). Those are just a few. Moving on. I have a lot of friends, in school and out. Some better than others. I play a lot of baseball, basketball, soccer, hockey, and a little bit of football. I am a very good student, even though my reputation of not turning in homework is famous at my school. I do well in almost all my classes (nobody is perfect). Well, now you know a little bit about me. Now..... on to blogging.

Ella and i started school last week on Thursday (we are in the same class). It was nice to see all of my friends. Basically, in every class we just talked about our summers. In English, we talked about summer reading. In math, we handed in our 200-hundred-question summer packet. I think I tore my pants because my reputation was showing. I know that was probably the corniest joke you have ever heard, but I'm 13--what do you want from me? In social studies (I already have friends thank you very much), we went over a few things that we had only looked at for a second last year. In science, we met our new teacher. She is the 4th one in 3 years. She wasn't new to the school, just new to that subject. We had P.E., also with a new teacher. A mellow first day of school never hurt anyone. Our birthday was the next day, so that was pretty cool. We had a nice 3-day weekend, and went back to school today.

Well, that's my first blog. I am new to this, so bear with me. I will try to post every day (like that's possible) and, if anyone reads this, I need help from you so you guys will enjoy this experience just as much as I do.

Thanks,
Ike
